I recently had a conversation with guitar instructor Patrick Peralta from New York. Patrick shared with me this video of his beginning adult guitar class at the Penfield Guitar School. Here are some of his students performing “Saltarello” arranged by our very own incredible Dr.Travis Marcum. The score for this arrangement can be found in the music library on GuitarCurriculum.com.
Patrick and I talked a little about teaching different types of students. Here is what he said about teaching adult classes.
“My favorite part of teaching adult classes is the sense of community that is built between everyone. Everyone is highly accomplished in their respective fields but they are all on an equal playing field when they start to play a piece of music together. It is a great bonding experience for them and for me.”
